Creator & maintainer of Maccy · Software engineer

Alex Rodionov (known online as p0deje) is the creator and maintainer of Maccy, the open-source clipboard manager for macOS. He started Maccy in 2018 out of a simple frustration: the Mac clipboard only ever remembered one thing. The project has since grown to more than 20,000 stars on GitHub and is used daily by hundreds of thousands of developers, writers, and designers.

Outside Maccy, Alex is a software engineer with a long track record in open source. He is a tech lead on Selenium, the browser-automation framework, and the author of Alumnium. That background in test automation and developer tooling shapes how Maccy is built: lightweight, keyboard-first, privacy-respecting, and dependable.

Why this matters for what you read here

The guides and comparisons on this site are written and reviewed against how Maccy and macOS actually behave, not marketing copy. When an article explains a keyboard shortcut, a privacy setting, or how the macOS clipboard works under the hood, it reflects first-hand experience building and maintaining a clipboard manager that runs on hundreds of thousands of Macs.
